Happy Friday, y’all!
This is a very quick email because I have an infant who is napping downstairs, and she doesn’t like napping for more than like 20 minutes at a time these days, so quick, here I go!!
Tomorrow, Saturday, April 26 from 2:30-4pm (and for the following 3 Saturdays) I’m leading a very practical and very chill workshop called Yoga for Everyday Life: The Yamas at The People’s Yoga SE. It will be my first workshop since adding the title “Phoebe’s Mama” to my resume, and I’m feeling extra-excited about sitting around with some good people, talking about how to be good people (or at least, thoughtful ones). Here’s a bit more about the workshop, taken right from the People’s website:
Join Abby Kraai for a 4-week inquiry into the most foundational elements of yoga: the yamas.
Together, the 5 yamas comprise the first limb of the ashtanga (8-limbed) system of yoga. They offer us 5 basic principles to live by: non-harming, truthfulness, non-stealing, wise use of energy, and non-hoarding. Throughout the series, we will examine each principle as it relates to our daily lives, and explore simple practices and exercises that you can take with you, on and off the mat.
While this series will include some gentle movement and meditation practices, it is not primarily an asana class. (But you’re still encouraged to dress comfortably! :))
If you’re around, I’d love to see you! And yes, you can drop in to 1 or 2 or 3 of the sessions — you don’t have to attend the whole series!
Okay, that’s all for now. I’ll be back soon to rattle around in your inbox with more musings on life and love and parenthood and whatever else I’m thinking about…
Love,
Abby
